This camera won the “most dopest cutesie name contest” that I had last week. Winning prize was a higher position on the shelf. Congratulations Honeywell Elmo Super Filmatic 104, and sorry to the Honeywell Elmo Super Filmatic 103, it was a good run.
What oh What to say about this mod cam… well, I bought her because of her looks. That’s right, she’s a trophy cam. Sleek and black, sexy and seductive, something right out of “Blow Up” amirite? She takes AA batteries, which would seem like a novelty for such an old camera, but you would be wrong since AA’s have been around since 1907 and you say I don’t tell you anything of value. Harrumph.
There isn’t much online about this sexy missile of a photographic image recording device on the webtrons, so, before we go I would like you to watch this informative, relatively short video, about how one would load such a camera that took a film magazine. Enjoy:

My mother told me stories of my uncle who got a brand new convertible about 1959. The family was waiting for the big reveal, but that was delayed until Uncle Walter got the movie camera working properly so he could capture the oohhing, ahhhing and expressions of amazement. He was the ultimate gadget guy. Not only did he have his own private hell with the movie cameras, family members unwillingly shared in the angst as well 😉

Hahah! That’s funny, and I’m sure its a common punishment for millions of families around the world … fortunately I think the current generation is so used to camera and taking pictures this pain will be a thing of the past. . . I almost miss it;) Thanks for commenting!

Actually, you wouldn’t regularly load the camera this way. You’d buy the magazine preloaded by the factory. The magazine would be recycled by the processing lab.
Because these mags are no longer available, the video is showing how to do it at home.

Also this is a super 8 camera, so the film not only still exists, but was never that type of cartridge style.
